Supply Chain Issues

3D rendering of the still-incomplete Supply Chain Issues

At this point, I still don’t know whether or not I will be able to make weight. I’m not looking forward to dropping another wad of cash at SendCutSend, but ultimately it’s cheaper than buying small pieces of aluminum from the usual sources. I managed to drop quite a bit of weight by going from Bane Bots to BotKits wheels and then from those to the Fingertech donuts on twist hubs. The one good thing, though, is that it does give me a chance to change the length of the weapon support, though at the end of the day I don’t want to do that just yet. The big problem is that I managed to buy parts better suited to a 12lb rather than 3lb bot, from the batteries to the ESCs on down. I’m sure if I intentionally built a twelve-pounder it would come in at 31 pounds.

Of course, right now there is a big question mark on whether or not the event will happen. If I don’t know anything by the end of next week I have to assume it won’t happen and will need to make plans for Battle In The Backwoods, which seems to be the larger event, though it is further away. I’m just not a fan of driving long distances these days. Huntsville is conveniently just mildly annoying, while middle Tennessee is more driving than I ever want to do. If I’m going to travel long distances and need to dedicate a couple of days, may as well fly to that big event up north.
